Welcoming 2007: 2006 in Retrospect

December 31, 2006 · Leave a Comment

pen-plainAfter getting back from a gruelling last day at work for 2006, we got around buying fruits and other last minute stuff. People were virtually everywhere, tempers were on a rise, and the usual subdued buzz of the people in our regular supermarket was turned up more than two notches higher, and my significant other and I barely heard each other when we were talking and trying to decide on what to buy. As I snaked my way around the people, expertly guiding my push cart like a drunk driver, I started to wonder what the year was like for me. It sure was a strange year, a year that started quietly and ended with a bang.

Let me be the one

December 30, 2006 · Leave a Comment

let me be the one to break it up
so you won’t have to make excuses
we don’t need to find a setup
where someone wins and someone loses
we just have to say our love was true
but has now become a lie
so I’m telling you ‘I love you’ one last time
and ‘goodbye’

For some reason, this darn song by Jimmy Bondoc seems to appeal to me. Sobra. I’m not bitter, or anything, I guess sometimes if I let my ’soft’ side rise to the surface, and I go senti-mode, this is one of the few songs that comes to mind. (Read on…)

Last bi-week of the month, last week of the year

December 30, 2006 · Leave a Comment

Here’s the deal. At work you need to really hit the numbers, and I mean really. It determines what you take home as commissions. Fortunately, after a week and a half of barely, and I mean barely making it to max it out, I finally hit the zone again yesterday.

Got 28 years renewed and booked 8 vacations. It’s been a long, long time, and it feels good to be back on track. At least I’m gonna end the year with a bang. After this it’s gonna be wait, wait, wait. After all, next week I’m gonna enter my 6th month at work and that means… (drumroll please)

I get to be regularized and promoted at the same time. Ain’t it cool? Then it’s lateral movement to help the newbies out. Yeah, yeah, some may think that I have vested interests. Fine, I ‘ll be honest here, and answer you with a yes. lol. More paid time off the phone equals the same commission, equals less “work” for me, and more time for me to do something else.

It sure makes the new bi-week and the new year worth looking forward to. :)

I was thinking that even though most of the people I know have started their own blogs, such as those from friendster, I would never, ever make my own. It just didn’t appeal to me then.

But that was then, and yep, however late it may sound I finally gave in to the pressure (in a way) and made my own. Heck, I even made one at a different place! lol.

And like they say, if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em. Ka-ching! Weeeeee! ^_^
